SOUND THERAPY

“If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies.”

“Sound enters the healing equation from several directions: It may alter cellular functions through energetic effects; it may entrain biological systems to function more homeostatically; it may calm the mind and therefore the body; or it may have emotional effects, which influence neurotransmitters and neuropeptides, which in turn help to regulate the immune system–the healer within.”

The healing power of the Gong

The gong is one of the oldest instruments of healing and has been used for thousands of years in meditation, ceremony and rituals. Today they are used in yoga and meditation classes, sound therapy practice, group gong bath meditations and in palliative and cancer treatment centers to promote health and well-being.

“The gong is more accurately a force of energy, like a divine engine, affecting the body’s meridians. By and large, after it’s over, you just feel great; You feel like you’ve been healed by the spirit of nature.”

The sounds from the gongs travel from the outer ear throughout the body via the vagus nerve — impacting brain waves, respiratory rate and heart rate. Sound and vibration help facilitate a deep sense of peace, release tension and blocked energy, and balance the energy centers in the body.  They are working at a cellular level to rebalance the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies.

Tibetan singing bowls

People have used the Tibetan Bowls for centuries to alter their consciousness and attain deeper meditative states. Tibetan singing bowls  are 'struck and sung' in specific rhythmic patterns to create vibrational sound harmonics at the frequency of "AUM" or "OM". This sound frequency known as that of Perfection impacts the sympathetic nervous system as your brain waves synchronize to the vibrations of the bowls. The harmonic vibrations engage the relaxation reflex and slow down the respiratory, brain and heart rate and disrupt the pain reflex creating a deep sense of well being. Some work with gongs, toning, color and visualizations may be integrated into your session to help move energy. In every case, Olga Onkar Kaur strongly refers to the clients inner wisdom to help in the healing process.

Crystal Bowls

Crystal Singing Bowls are tuned to the body’s Chakra centers so, much like a tuning fork causes resonance to adjacent objects, when played, they help tune chakra centers to resonate in their proper, natural state. In doing so, they allow for the free flow of energy throughout the body, mind and spirit.

Each chakra center represents an essential essence of consciousness. The Crystal Singing Bowl notes C,D,E,F,G,A and B correspond with the seven major chakras. The additional notes C sharp, F sharp, G sharp and A sharp correspond to the 5 subtle body chakras: the Om Chakra, the High Sacral Chakra, the Thymus/High Heart Chakra, the Zeal/Soul Chakra and the Pineal/Soul Star Chakra, respectively.

Crystal bowl therapy helps to balance the chakra system and re-energize the auric field. Healing is thus made possible on all levels. Each individual is unique as to which energy center(s) require balancing. You may find yourself drawn to different tones each time you experience them.

Sound heals on a physical level because it so deeply touches and transforms us. It does this on the emotional and spiritual planes. Sound can redress imbalances on every level of physiologic functioning. Therefore, it plays a positive role in the treatment of virtually any medical disorder.” His research shows that the sound vibration of the bowls affects the dysrhythmic motion found in cancer cells, causing a harmonious transformation.

Tingsha's Bells

Awaken your spirit and summon peacefulness to your mind and body with the vibration of tingsha chimes. These prayer chimes have been used for centuries by Tibetan Buddhists to prepare for meditation. When the two pieces strike each other they produce a clear, pure, cleansing sound which can be used to focus the mind before and after meditation. Tinghsas are also for clearing space of negative energies and the healing and balancing of auric fields. They are used in feng shui to ring in the four corners of a room in order to open the energy and for clearing spaces.
